High-volatility procedure. Your Immigration Judge's case-specific deadline or order controls over a general internet checklist.

Use one calendar as a deadline control system, not merely a list of hearing dates. Every time you receive a Notice of Hearing, Immigration Judge order, DHS filing, or court instruction, immediately enter the event and any filing deadline it creates.

For each deadline, record: what must be filed, the official due date, who is responsible, service requirements, the court or portal destination, and a link to the working file. Then add earlier internal reminders—for example, a document-gathering date and an attorney-review date—so the legal deadline is not the first time you act.

Current EOIR general rules provide filing deadlines for many hearings, including a 30-day rule for many non-detained individual calendar hearing filings, but an Immigration Judge can set or modify deadlines. Your case-specific order controls. Never calculate a deadline only from a generic internet checklist when the Judge has given a different instruction.

Keep proof when a filing is completed and mark the calendar entry with the confirmation or receipt. Do not delete old deadlines; mark them completed so you retain an audit trail.

Also track hearing date, time, location or remote instructions, and any requirement to update address information. Review the calendar at least weekly and immediately after every court communication.
